Casting the fly is usually the biggest hurdle to catching fish and often a leading cause of frustration. Part of the problem is not understanding the five simple principles of casting. Yes it’s some some physics and dynamics but I use terms like throwing frisbees, using a hammer or paint brush to sort it all out. The other part of the problem is understanding suitable equipment, flies, lines, rigging and knots all of which can be incorporated into your lesson. Lessons are done on a local ball field in Belmont, NC.
I also offer saltwater casting lessons and can provide casting of 8-9-11wt rods as well. This is especially important if planning and working on casting for any upcoming “salty” excursions. Casting is a part of every trip I offer as well as we learn line control casts and casts that catch fish!
