Destination: Patagonia

Patagonia is a geographical region that encompasses the southern end of South America, governed by Argentina and Chile. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes Mountains with lakes, fjords, temperate rainforests, and glaciers in the west and deserts, tablelands and steppes to the east.

The Northern Patagonia region is the most prolific dry fly fishing district in the world. The variety and abundance of fishable water would allow you to fish a different location each day for more than 100 days. Dry fly fishing is available throughout the entire season, November through May. Five of the regions most famous rivers, several spring creeks, and pristine mountain lakes are all a short drive away. Fly fishing may be one of the most peaceful yet exciting activities! The sound of the river, and the complete connection with nature and away from technology is really therapy for the soul. Paul’s expertise and guidance helped us fall in love with the sport. We can’t wait to get back to the river!

I’ve fly fished for carp but was looking to up my game.  The owner of my local fly shop recommended setting up a trip with Paul.  It was a successful day catching fish.  But what I really appreciated is the time Paul put in to sharing his extensive knowledge and experience.  Sight fishing for carp is a blast and the closest you can get in freshwater to redfish on the coast or bonefish in the islands.  It’s great practice for making accurate, delicate casts to big, spooky fish.  I’m trying to get a few friends interested in saltwater and looking forward to getting them out with Paul to get them hooked on carp and saltwater fishing.
